Friday Four

Last night I went to Supper Club -- absolutely love those girls!  We had great food, lots of wine, and we had an Arbonne rep come out and pamper us with mud masks, detox foot soaks, and makeup.  Tons of fun, and I came rolling into the house at 10:30 last night.  Whoa, nelly.  I'm usually asleep by that time!

So with that to preface today's post, you'll understand why this sleepy girl is going with a little dose of random today.

Gold Leaf Terracotta Pots
This idea comes from one of my favorite home blogs - The Hunted Interior.  This idea for gold leaf terracotta pots is insane.  These need to make an appearance at my home.

The Pioneer Woman's Crash Potatoes
So, we pretty much never cook potatoes, but once I heard about this recipe I just had to try it.  We are so in love with this as a weekend treat.  I use purple potatoes which is just lovely with those sea salt crystals on top.

Weekly Workouts
I've been doing my best to increase my weekly workouts.  I have a gym that is in walking distance -- even though I always drove to it, I just had my little "aha!" moment where I realized that this was pretty silly.  I track the walk on Map My Run (free app - awesome) and it adds on more than a mile to my workout.  I wear a pedometer, so that's a huge benefit ... more than 2,000 steps added.

Martha Does It Again
These coconut thumbprint cookies with salted caramel need to make an appearance at my house.  Like, now.  I have a feeling I'll be whipping up a batch on Sunday.

Cheers to the weekend!  Ta-ta for now.

  1. I can walk to my gym too...haven't done it yet. Usually because I am in a rush to get there, but I will at some point!

  2. I too can walk to the gym, haven't done it yet either!! Those potatoes look delish!

  3. Both the potatoes and cookies look awesome! Let us know how they are.

  4. OBSESSED with those hot crash potatoes...SO good!! And isnt it crazy how wearing a pedometer makes you want to be more active?? I just started wearing one and it makes me try SO hard for those 10k steps!

  5. Make those smashed potatoes asap!! They are SO good!

  6. I have been eying those flower pots- I am doing all containers this year, and not messing with my beds, so I think a trip to AC Moore for some gold leaf is in order!

  7. I love crash potatoes. I am making some this weekend!

    Have a good one!

  8. Yum Yum! I am going to have to make the potatoes AND the cookies! I am loving those flower pots!
    have a great weekend!

  9. Okay, shut your mouth w/ those terracotta pots!!!!! Adding that to my list of things to do this weekend! Gorgeous!

And sounds like you had a fun girls night last night.... sign me up next time! ;)

    CHEERS to the weekend!

  10. Love your motivation for the gym! Even that mile walk and back is so good for you.

I have to admit, I cannot stand the Pioneer Woman. Everything she does is unoriginal. Her "crash" potatoes are just the ancient Betty Crocker smashed potatoes with a new name! That was probably one of the first 'recipes' I learned to bake when I was home alone and parents were at some charity function... try them with a little scattering of parm and rosemary or thyme. Yum.

  11. I've made those potatoes so many times! I love them so much.

  12. I am so on your wavelength woman! I am also obsessed with the gold leaf pots. Wanting a quick alternative, I spraypainted the rims of two clay pots this week. After taking another look, I think the gold leaf is worth the time. Those potatoes are insanely good too- we served ours with a little sour cream and they were even better!

  13. i have started gold leafing my pots like that and canNOT get enough ;) obsessed!
