Back To Reality! Menu Plan and Week At A Glance

We are officially back from the beach and settling back into our normal life in Charlotte. As great as it is to escape to the beach for the week, there is something so comforting about being HOME ... a dose of reality. We returned home to three loads of laundry that needed to be run ... really what should have been about six loads, but I was jamming that washer full with every bit I had!

So now I have a mountain of clean laundry to fold and put away. Camille has ballet this morning and two days of preschool this week. I have returns to make to Homegoods and a meeting with Home Depot about potential plantation shutters in our home. I have a feeling they will be out of our price range, but may as well get a quote.

I also made our meal plan for the week and did my grocery shopping with Charlotte yesterday:

Sunday: Homemade French dips and skinny oven fries, recipe here
Monday: Crockpot pulled pork, green beans, roasted okra
Tuesday: Cube steak with mushroom gravy, stewed white beans, creamed spinach with nutmeg
Wednesday: I have dinner out with friends, Southwest chopped salad for Ian topped with leftover pulled pork from Monday
Thursday: I host supper club here and still need to come up with a fall themed menu and complete the shopping!

We don't have any weekend plans so I am hoping either Friday or Saturday we can just lay low and order a pizza.

Camille and I have just finished our bowls of cereal and I am going to put the girls in the double stroller and take them for a little morning walk. Hope your Monday is off to a great start. What was the highlight of your weekend?

  1. I think I'm making those French Dips tonight - we have Boy Scouts and it's a crazy schedule so these will be perfect! Love a good recipe share so thank you!

  2. If you need a supper club suggestion - I made this pumpkin-kale lasagna a couple years ago for thanksgiving and it was SO GOOD. Plus not crazy difficult to put together!

  3. We had your french dips last week ... it is my go to recipe ... we love it! Love that you've posted your meal plans! Have a great week!

  4. Welcome Home. I feel the same way! I spent Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon at my parent's home to celebrate my Dad's birthday and then came home to deep clean right before book club! This week's meals are simple and quick since I know I have a lot going on. Jess at Just Jess

  5. Ooh I saw the kale recommendation above and want to share one of our fall/winter favorites, kale gratin:

SUPER easy to make, but it looks/tastes super fancy. And the kale balances out the cheese and cream, right?

  6. You should do a potato bar for supper club. Super versatile and who doesn't love baked potatoes??

  7. Second on the potato bar - it's on my maybe list for hosting Bunco in a couple months :) Looooove me some pulled pork in a crockpot (that would actually work really well for the potato bar, too :)

  8. I know everyone has different expectations when it comes to supper club , but I'd be a little bummed if someone just did jazzed up potatoes. I feel like you only have one meal to make the entire year , why not treat your friends . It doesn't have to be difficult , but I think showing a little effort is important . Just an honest opinion :)

  9. Welcome home!!! I always have an added pep in my step with that first week back home. Enjoy getting back into the routine!

  10. Yum, I love French Dip...but the stepdaughter doesn't. So, I don't get to make it. Boo! :(
